Closing Statements

Happy Friday Year 12s,

I just wanted to say how impressed I have been with you and the effort that you have put into your coursework.

Reminder: next Tuesday and Wednesday we will be focusing on Disability and Class and Status- please have some TV dramas in mind.

Trainee Sports Reporter opportunity available for any budding journalists!

The BBC Kick Off Trainee Sports Reporter Scheme gives talented people from a diverse range of backgrounds the opportunity to learn and develop sports reporting skills at the BBC.

The work experience placements are for two days a week for eight weeks during July and August 2014. Placements are available in the BBC across the UK. We welcome people from a diverse range of backgrounds.

What’s on offer?
- You’ll learn how to interview and to write sports stories for radio and online
- Go to sports events and be part of a team bringing all the excitement of sport to BBC audiences
- You’ll receive full training
- A mentor from your chosen BBC site

What we’re looking for:
- You will need to be aged 18 or over on 1st July 2014. There are no other age limitations
- A proven passion for sport
- A willingness to further your career in sport journalism
- You don’t need to have any prior journalism experience or training to apply

Many previous Kick Off trainee sports reporters have gone on to full time work in sport for the BBC across the UK, from local radio to BBC Sport in Salford. Don’t miss out on your chance!

Closing your blog....

Last tips for closing your blog...

- Ensure that you have uploaded the correct/ newest version of your final production as the LAST POST. ( if you have created a digital magazine please add a gadget/ HTML/ add the embed code or link and position it before your blog posts.

- after your final production you should have each of your evaluation questions with the full title and number in the heading.

- ensure that you have uploaded every single piece of work that you have completed on the course both in lesson or at home including research and evaluation.

- write a closing statement!

- Apart from Andrius, Sophia, Layla and Ollie please DO NOT ADD ANYTHING TO YOUR Blogs because they have been marked and moderated therefore finished (apart from embedding/ changes of colour and font to your house style.

See you ALL in Tuesday's lesson- we will be looking at the representation of AGE.

TV drama: disability

Hello all,

Please watch the trailer below for the New Series of: 'Ironside' which is about a black American, disabled man.

It challenges views of disability presenting a successful, ambitious detective and the director challenges views referring to him as a 'cripple'. He uses his disability to help him with the job e.g. A different perspective on crime/ cases etc.
